Chapter Two
It replayed in his head over and over again. The Challenger stood for what seems like forever. Then suddenly she punched him so hard that it felt like his body shattered. Then he was in the dressing room with Ann. He broke out into a cold sweat. Ann stood in the red negligee and reached out for her but she slipped from his arms. Lifting his hands, they were covered in blood. As he looked up he saw Abby and Ann fall into the pool as the water turned to red. As the chaos swirled around his head he began to hear a strange beeping that continue to get louder. His breathing quickened and his heart pounded as he opened his eyes, realizing for the first time that he was in a hospital.
Dane slapped Loki in the chest, waking him. "Yo, he's waking up. I'm going to get the nurse."
"Where the fuck am I?" Brant struggled to speak.
"You've been in the hospital for a week, brother." Loki told him.
Brant tried to set up but his body protested.
"Trust me, you don't want to move much." Loki said hearing Brant's groan.
The nurse walked in, Dane behind her. "How are you feeling, Brant?"
"Like shit. In pain. Can I get something?"
"Right now, I can only give you a mild pain reliever. You are still detoxing. So it's good that you have slept through most of it. But you will have to go through rehab. I believe your brothers have found you a really nice facility." She looked at Dane and Loki, knowing she wasn't buying the whole brother thing. "I will leave you to discuss things. The doctor will be in later to fill you in on your progress."
"Rehab! Are you fucking with me? I don't need rehab!"
"The fuck you don't! You've been trying to drink, fight, and fuck yourself to death for a while now. We know why! We just don't know exactly what it was you did to make you do this to yourself. You have to get clean. You have no choice!" Dane exploded.
"Look, I know things have been sideways, but you got to get your shit together. We all need to move forward, but brother you've been going backward" Loki said, staring down at him. "We, have you covered as far Cain is concerned"
"Just take some time to heal and get your head straight, nothing else matters right now. We can talk about all the other shit later." Dane told him.
